April 30, 2009

It is BEAUTIFUL!! This motor home has it all and more. Not sure where I will put everything but believe you me it has ample room for it all.
I have some of our things loaded in it but still have to put in our clothes and food.
I turned on the fridge last night and it is good and cold so will start filling it up with things we will not use right away at home.
We may not get out of here until the weekend as Ken doesn't want to be rushed. He just can't. So that will be all right as I am on a lasting vacation with my husband and not in a big hurry to get anywhere.
Until later...

April 28, 2009

Today is the day!!! We get our motor home and our plans are to leave on Friday the first of May for our long vacation. We plan to be gone at least 2 months.
Once we bring the coach home it will have to be filled with all our stuff. It will be a pleasure to unload our home with all our motor home belongings and get our house back to some semblance of order.
We will have so much room in this coach that it will take me days to try to fill up all the cabinets and drawers but believe you me, I will do it!
Until later...

April 27, 2009

Tomorrow we go to Yakima to pick up our new coach, we are both excited to start our 2 month journey and see the sights.
Traveling across our country and seeing it from the ground is spectacular!! All the things you read about in history books you can stop and visually see.
I will be happy to get the new coach home so that I can have my house back to it's normal self. Right now it looks like who did it and ran.
Until later...

April 26, 2009

Today I am still looking at the mess we took out of the motor home and have in our home. Who would have thought all this stuff could have fit in our other coach?! That will all go away on Wednesday when I fill up the new coach with the old stuff and will weed out junk!
I will mow the lawn today (last time for 2 months) and will turn it over to someone else while we are gone. Our neighbors will keep an eye out on our home so we feel good about that.
Until later...

Well, the 2003 Monaco Diplomat is ours!!!!! We signed the papers today and Tuesday afternoon we will go to Yakima to pick it up. We can't wait.
Had to add this addition to my previous blog to update and clue you all in on our addition.
Soon, we will be packing up the new coach and heading south.
Until later...

What a couple of days we have had. Running around like chickens with our heads cut off!!!
Today Ken has lots of running around to do and I am going to stay home and do laundry, cook dinner (rare that I cook) and then go to Costco with Ken when he gets home.
It won't be long now until we get ready for our trip and we are both looking forward to it as it will give us the rest and relaxation we so need.
Until later...

April 22, 2009

Today we are resting!!! I took Coco to be groomed at 2pm and went to get my glasses exchanged as both lenses are starting to crack so changed frames as well.
Our motor home is at the RV Show in Kennewick as the dealer is going to try to sell it for us and after that happens we will be able to go and get our new coach. So, cross your fingers that it sells quickly.
It is very windy today so Ken and I will both stay close to home. I have the itchy eyes and it just affects his breathing.
Until later...

Today will be hot again but we have to push on. We took our motor home to a dealer and he will consign it for us. Hopefully we will be able to get our new motor home by end of this week or next.
More later...

April 20, 2009

Yesterday was yard day!! We worked outside most of the day as it was so beautiful, hence, no posting for April 19th.
I am going to attach some photos of the motor home we will be purchasing to make our journey to Arizona. We will also live in it when we travel northwest for the summers. It is a 2003 Monaco Diplomat w/2 slides and kept in pristine condition outside and inside. They didn't even cook inside of this rig.
Here are some photos and will write more tomorrow. Enjoy.
One of these days I'll figure out how to put these photos in order so that they come after the post.
Until tomorrow...

April 17, 2009

Today is the first day of the rest of my life!!! Today I retire from the workforce and get ready for a trip that will be worth everything. Going places I have never been with a man who is the best tour guide the United States ever could get. He takes me places even though he has been there, and says he sees it all over again from my eyes.
Going to lunch today with my boss Tom and Ken.
Will update later if I have anything to add.

April 16, 2009

Today I am having breakfast with my husband and his electrician cronies at IHOP, then back to work.
Tomorrow my boss Tom Franson is taking Ken and me to lunch at The Cedars and this will be my last day at work. It will seem strange to me since I started working when I was 14 years old and now I am 67. I did have a few years when I did not work but for the most part I was a working person.
I have made many friends along the way in the workforce and hope to make many more on our journey across this desert land. Being in a RV is a wonderful chance to meet the nicest people ever. Ken and I have made some great friends and still keep in touch with them.
We met Bob and Colleen Towe in Eugene, OR several years ago and Colleen and I have become wonderful friends as have Bob and Ken. We can't wait to see them again. They spend their winters in Yuma, AZ.
Until next time.

April 15, 2009

Well, two more days to retirement!! Ken said he was going to get some friends together for a Retirement Party but I said why don't we just have a Retirement breakfast at IHOP Thursday morning and he agreed. His electrician cronies will be there and they are fun.

Getting lists made, people to mow the lawn, fridge stocked with water, and got started on my fake tan from a tube this morning! Got to get the edge on that tan without hot sun baking the skin.

More next time.

April 14, 2009

Only 3 more days until my retirement from the workforce!! Ken and I will then start our journey to fun.

Coco, our little Sheltie/Aussie Shepherd mix, is a good little traveler and know she will enjoy this trip as much as we will. We know she will be glad to get out of snow country.
